Ode to Laundry

Laundry, Laundry, Laundry; I wash you and wear you, then pile you up, just to start all over again!

I wear it, pile it up not in one basket but two (which always overflows I won't even say how much) then I wash it for what seems like days and days in endless loads ... and WHY!!! So I can start the horrendous cycle all over again!?!? And the worst part is the socks. We .... wait namely the kids have at least a hundred pairs and sadly there are never any clean! Because they are in the endless cycle, I spend more time at Wal*Mart buying more socks! (ok I vented, I feel better)

Please where is the laundry elf? Moma needs a break.

Love that Toothless grin!

So tonight Connor joined the elite ranks of many who have gone before him ..... and lost a tooth! He lost his first. It was quite an ordeal and it was sprung on us, Karen and Chaytor came over we had pizza and things were very normal. Afterwards he brushed his teeth and I could see the gap widening. I knew it was getting close he has been wiggling it for a while. I said "let's try and pull on that tooth." The excitement last a fraction of a second, until the first ounce of pain kicked in. The tears came and the first words out of his mouth were "I want Grandpa to do it!" Just what every single mother wants to hear right? So I so gently coerced him to try it again then he said "No I want to let it fall out at school they give you a tooth pouch to put it in," my reply was "if it falls out at school you'll be digesting it." Because at this point it was hanging on by a piece of pulp so I just put him in a head lock and hooked him like a fish, out popped the tooth. So you can almost see the glistening of tears in the pictures through the smile. They are quite real I assure you. As quickly as it begun, no more than 5 minutes has passed, it was over and he said I need my bag for the tooth fairy and he was off to bed and as quite as a mouse!

My reflection is why aren't there more teeth in the little buggers mouth?!?

Yep it's Tuesday

Ok so it's Tuesday, my favorite day of the week. It is like my rock, of course right next to Sunday that is?? What am I talking about, SG! When we get together and talk, snack and the kids run around like animals in the wild .... and if we're lucky no one get's hurt! Well tonight all of the above happened and God was there most importantly. As some would say we couldn't see Him but He was there. And we didn't have to watch a video to get to that point. We talked. That is what I love about our group. We may be slightly unconventional, but we meet the need.

Let's just say there was a lot of the last 10% tonight ... and that is why I love where I come on Tuesday and who I get to spend my time with. And the night ended even better when the kids actually cleaned the play room, now if God wasn't there with that one then you must not believe! So Kelley says to Connor can I just punch you in the nose (joking of course, you'd have to know us all) and Connor so frankly says "That is not what God would want us to do." Okay I wanted to cry, this coming from the kid who 5 minutes earlier was karate chopping his brother?!? But he did melt my heart!!

So what did we really do on Tuesday, we talked about Faith ... and I really grew and learned from my friends, way more than any Beth Moore study or simulcast I could ever attend.

Ok so it's been a while ...

Ok so it's been a while ... since last year to be exact!! So what has happened since then?Nothing major. I passed my state boards got ride of the "A" and just kept the RN, I am getting used to that still.
The boys are wild as march hares and that is fine with me until I need them to sit still, so basically nothing has changed. They are getting big. Connor has had a birthday, he is 6 now. Gosh they just keep getting bigger. Easton is getting so mature. Who would of thought an almost 8 year old would use the word 'communicate' vs. talk, but he does, and I love it. He had a little incident at school and it just showed me how awesome God is and that his power and mercy is always with us. For Easton he enjoyed his first ride in the ambulance. I was so blessed with the outpouring of love, support, and prayer from our friends and family at Church.
Oh yeah and we moved ... twice in 6 months, yippee, yeah not so much. I hate the 3rd floor and I will NEVER move above ground level again! I love my small group who helped me get totally packed in one night. And about that I could not have made this current 2nd move with out the help of the guys at PCC who gave up a weekday night to help me get a totally packed storage room moved into my apartment and then set up my kids bunk beds (to which I lost most of the parts, but they got more for me ... they were totally great!) and then my car broke down. Nothing like an emergency brake to stop you or the 2 deer I hit in one week ... go figure.
For me I am still at PCC and loving what God is readily showing up at doing through and with the people at PCC. I cannot imagine being or going to Church anywhere else. My kids actually sat through 'adult' service for the first time this year ... YEAH!! and I didn't have to miss Church because there was no children's ministry. So that was a big milestone. E.N.U.F. .... need I say more?Reminds me of that buff J.Lo movie I know, but it's not. That's the name of my small group!! And for those who missed it, I let Kelley (yes Ms. deeplove herself) talk me and the rest of my small group into doing a skit in front of the entire Church, both services on the BIG stage!! Yes, me the shy one. I think it went well, although we just re-debated it this past week. Ok so we didn't win the Small Group Olympics but we did good at the Picnic, we won Tug of War, that has to count for something, right?? All and all it was a good 2008 for me, and I can't wait to see what God has in store for us in 2009.
